14 year old Kyra Berry, USA gymnast, arrives in Australia to try and win a scholarship at an elite gymnastics academy. Maddy Cornell, an ex-world champion Australian coach sees Kyra’s talent and invites her to train at the Coreega Academy on a trial basis. There are only two international slots available and Kyra will have to compete with the top ranked girls Scarlett and Maya. Despite the icy reception from her rivals and homesickness, Kyra is determined to succeed in her dream. The series will focus on how she overcomes her hurdles to achieve her goal, including rivalry with her new classmates, dating Bradley (a soccer player) and juggling school work and gymnastics training. Grown ups may roll their eyes at the on-the-nose dialogue and flat performances, but tween kids into gymnastics will love living vicariously through Kyra’s journey to pursue her dreams. The gymnastics performances are the real show stealers and will have kids rooting for Kyra to defeat her mean girls.
