Gymnastics Equipment

gymnastics

Gymnastics equipment is the equipment required for gymnasts to participate in gymnastic and fitness activities. Gymnastics apparatus is mostly used in the gymnasiums of gymnasts, like the balance beam. It is generally a horizontal beam with five meters (16.4 ft) of distance between the top of it and the floor. The height of this beam can be adjusted with the help of pulleys and ropes, and its width can also be increased or decreased. The height of this beam determines the height of the individual gymnast. The gymnasts should start from the bottom and then move on to the top of the beam. If the gymnast does not make the required jumps on the balance beam, he/she will be considered as being below par.

Gymnastics apparatus are mainly used in gymnastic competitions; they include the hurdles, vault, bars, rings, vault rings, and many more. Gymnastics apparatus have helped a lot in improving the overall skills and performance of gymnasts and also in developing strength and fitness levels of gymnasts. The jumping performance and agility of gymnasts are enhanced through the use of gymnastic equipment. In gymnastic competitions, different apparatus are used to increase the chances of winning and minimize the chances of losing. For example, if a gymnast uses a low bar when jumping, he/she might be able to win over a competitor who uses a high bar. Also, a person who can leap higher than the other might be able to win.

The balance beam is one of the most common gymnastic equipments used in gyms. It is a horizontal beam with two points that are at right angles to each other. A gymnast has to place one foot on each point of the beam and then make a leap to cross the beam. If the gymnast fails to jump on the beam or fails to land on the beam at the expected height, the point where he/she failed to complete the leap wins the match. This is done at an arena where gymnasts do physical exercises before the competition to improve their physical condition.
