While March Madness basketball is taking center stage this week, the 2023 NCAA women’s gymnastics season is also dishing up wild and wonderful feats. Jade Carey’s perfect 10 on floor, Sierra Brooks’ quest for the all-around title, LSU’s redemption tour and Trinity Thomas’ chase for the all-time 10s record are just some of the many compelling stories that will culminate at nationals this weekend in Fort Worth, Texas.
Seven-time Olympic medalist Simone Biles will headline the event, and she is expected to be among the top competitors in every event. Her return to competition after a two-year hiatus is one of the most highly anticipated comebacks in sports history, and fans are eager to see if she can live up to her reputation as the best gymnast ever.
The team finals will feature eight teams competing for a shot at the championship trophy, and it’s set to be an intriguing battle. Oklahoma will look to defend its title after winning the team competition at regionals last weekend, but Florida, Utah and Colorado are all aiming for a piece of Dickies Arena.
Semifinal I kicks off at 3 p.m. ET Thursday, and the televised broadcast will air on ABC and ESPN2. You can also watch the meet online on ESPN+ by signing up for a free three-month trial here.
